It is amazing what we can do with a simple camera, some paper and a lot of imagination. As teachers we should always keep in mind that if it´s easy for us to explain it, it will be easy for the students to understand it.
I think it is a nice, interesting and appealing way to work with students. especially the easy way to use and work with. Nowadays students have more access or have any kind of gadget with them; this permits teachers have a great range of possible tasks to do with their students. we should take advantage of this.
I like the wiki in plain Engilsh to promote cooperative work. it is a modern form to work together. eventhough students are working in group, there is some independance. There is another positive element here which is "time". everyone at home can do his or her part to achieve the goal. cool! finally the way the presenter describes the use of it, shows that it is easy and fun for students.
First thanks for posted these information is a fun way to learn how to use these new tools, second i loved the wiki i think it is a great tool to make students to work together when they are not in class they won´t have excuses of that they did not have time to get together or they couldn´t answer an email and so on and they willhave fun because looks fun to do, and the second one is excellent to share activities that you are doing in class and maybe other teachers can use in their classes.
I found these videos very interesting. The wiki I had actually never heard of. I like the idea of being able to organize something with your friends without having to actually get together. The podcast is something most of us use everyday in life, such as with Tivo, or here in Cali, Direct Tv, and also similar to youtube.
Well..what I just saw is amazing...wiki is the one that really caught my attention...it could be useful to create small conversations for students to follow up..or to share information they get about certain topics the teacher considers important for them to research about.. Or for students to ask possible questions/ doubts they might have when studying or practicing about a topic studied in class.
i think the podcast video was really great. i had already used podcasts to get online radio shows that mainly played electronic music and did some interviews, but i hadnt really used it beyond that. it would be really interesting if the colombo had its on podcast downloadable either from the website or from itunes.
Well, thank you very much for the video which helped me to clarify the concept of the two words. Most of you think this is very simple to work with these tools, but i don't think so. Anyway, i would like my students to be able to work this way! I specially like the wiki, which is an easier and useful way to work at public schools. As it is very difficult for my students to work in groups out of the school, wiki becomes a good idea for them to do a cooperative work from their own homes. Probably, it can encourage them to write in English! I will propose this kind of work.... I hope they find it useful, modern and appealing for their learning process.
